Our Mission

Ride With Clyde - Battling Cancer With Bennet Epperson

This is actually set up with the sole purpose of raising funds in various ways to help support Baby Ben, Jenny, Dave, and their families and friends during Ben's fight with cancer.

This blog seemed the best way for me to put all of my various efforts together in one place so that I could share them with others.

I will also try to update the blog with Bennet's condition and other news of his care and treatment as I hear it.

Feel free to post comments and make suggestions for other ways to raise money or generally help out. You can also get in touch with me at ridewithclyde2010@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance to everyone for their support. F*ck Cancer!

Guess Who Gets To Go Home!

That's right folks, Baby Bennet, Jenny, and Dave get to go home to Ashland tomorrow!  So here's what Beth told me today.  Ben was under for his radioactive dye test and they took his catheter out at the same time.  They told them not to get his hopes up as he may not pee on his own still.  Well, from what Beth said his diaper was full within five minutes of the catheter removal.  This means that the tumor has already shrunk enough to relieve the pressure it was putting on his bladder and the chemo is working!  From what Beth said, the happy three could have gone home today had they wanted too, but they decided to stay in Portland for one more night to celebrate.  Also, as understand it, Ben is done with Portland except for a check up which will happen down the road a little.  His chemo will now be administered at RVMC.  It will require an overnight stay, but the treatments will be dropped to two days instead of three.  And right now it sounds like there will be two more rounds of chemo.  Obviously, this is all great news.  Benny will be seeing an oncologist in Ashland (I think that's what Beth said).  Obviously, this fight isn't over yet, but it is definitely headed in the right direction.  I'm gonna go celebrate with a beer.  Yay Benny!

F*ck cancer, I ride with Clyde!

-A very happy Uncle Jake
