Our Mission

Ride With Clyde - Battling Cancer With Bennet Epperson

This is actually set up with the sole purpose of raising funds in various ways to help support Baby Ben, Jenny, Dave, and their families and friends during Ben's fight with cancer.

This blog seemed the best way for me to put all of my various efforts together in one place so that I could share them with others.

I will also try to update the blog with Bennet's condition and other news of his care and treatment as I hear it.

Feel free to post comments and make suggestions for other ways to raise money or generally help out. You can also get in touch with me at ridewithclyde2010@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance to everyone for their support. F*ck Cancer!

Another Move

Hi all.  So, as it turns out, Bennet, Jenny, and Dave have moved for the second time in two days.  From what Jenny and Beth have told me, the Ronald McDonald house was not the nicest place.  Apparently there were some um, "urban" members of the community there rapping.  And there were little kids running around getting in Ben's face and touching him.  This doesn't sound like the best environment for a 6 month old undergoing cancer treatment, and Jenny and Dave agreed with that sentiment.  They are now residing in a Marriott in downtown Portland and are excited to be in a nice clean place of their own.  Benny's doctors are good with this as long as they are close to the hospital.  Ben ate some bananas last night which is good.  Also, Dave was able to give Ben his first white blood cell shot today and our brave little guy barely winced.  That helped Jenny and Dave both feel a lot better and helped their confidence.  I think Jenny's going to try giving the shot tomorrow, but I'm not sure.  Not surprisingly if you've seen pictures of him throughout this ordeal, but Bennet continues to be the happy smiley baby that we all love.  That's it for tonight.  Collin and Beth are back in Portland with their girls, so my updates should be more detailed now as I'm ok with bugging Beth for updates and she seems happy to oblige.  Keep spreading the word about the blog and t-shirts.  Keep up those good thoughts and prayers for Bennet, Jenny, and Dave.  And if you have the means, feel free to send donations to help with costs that Jenny and Dave may incur during Benny's treatment.

Until tomorrow, f*ck cancer, I ride with Clyde!

-Jake
