Our Mission

Ride With Clyde - Battling Cancer With Bennet Epperson

This is actually set up with the sole purpose of raising funds in various ways to help support Baby Ben, Jenny, Dave, and their families and friends during Ben's fight with cancer.

This blog seemed the best way for me to put all of my various efforts together in one place so that I could share them with others.

I will also try to update the blog with Bennet's condition and other news of his care and treatment as I hear it.

Feel free to post comments and make suggestions for other ways to raise money or generally help out. You can also get in touch with me at ridewithclyde2010@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance to everyone for their support. F*ck Cancer!

A Small Request From A Heavy Heart

Hi all,

So, I have to admit, I have no idea if anyone follows or reads this blog anymore.  As I'm sure most of its previous readers are aware, Bennet is currently cancer free and a healthy active almost 20 month old bouncing boy.  I write that happily.  And my heavy heart has nothing to do with Ben tonight.  Instead, it deals with two other young people fighting for their lives right now.  Two children who I believe Ben and his parents Jenny and Dave all met in during their time in Portland when Benny was being treated.

These two children--Ethan Jostad and Faith Fulmer--and their families have received devastating news in the past week.  Both children, who are fighting for their lives, have been giving just weeks to live by their respective doctors.  I don't know either of these children or their families personally.  And to me that doesn't matter.  The idea of children suffering and dying from cancer breaks my heart.  I want to help.  I want to work with organizations that help these kids.  I want to make their lives better and brighter in some way, any way, that I possibly can.  Right now all I know from down here is the power of Team Ben.  In all honesty, I have no idea if the prayers, good thoughts, and positive energy we all sent to Ben during his fight did anything good or not.  But what I do know is that it didn't hurt anything.  I'm not asking for much this time relative to what I asked for during Ben's fight.  Maybe if I had gotten involved earlier, I would have.  But at this point I'm not sure we can do much more than hope for a miracle.

So, all I'm asking for is for all of you who may still read or follow this blog is to do whatever it may be that you do, be it pray, think good thoughts, or send good energy, to do just that and direct it up to Ethan, Faith, and their families up in Portland at Doernbecher.  I don't know if it will help, but it sure as hell can't hurt.  Thanks all.

As always, F*ck Cancer!
